Back 2 School

Who:

Thousands of children are struggling to survive in poverty-stricken conditions around the world. These children are AIDS orphans, runaways, street beggars and economic orphans. Some of them have to work to help support their families; others get only one meal a day. Most of them are too poor to even think of going to school.

What:
A campaign to eradicate poverty by supporting education (project # 9005). Cross International Catholic Outreach is partnering with parishes around the country to ship 60 tons of school supplies - notebooks, backpacks, pencils, shoes,
school lunches - to poor children in developing countries.

When:
The campaign runs throughout the year.

Where:
Cross is shipping supplies to children in the Caribbean and Latin America - including Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Why:
God calls us to help those who cannot help themselves, to defend the cause of the poor (Psalms 82:3). So many children are in desperate need of education, and without help they'll never have the opportunity to go to school. Study after study has shown that education and poverty are linked; without an education children are trapped in a life of poverty and suffering. Won't you help us change a child's life? Help us give these children the tools they need to make a better life.
