Needs Met Success Story   Meeting Immediate Needs

Mirlande Joseph, 33, had been in labor for 3 days in the rural mountain village in Haiti.  She was nearly overcome by pain, finally realized she and her unborn baby needed help — fast. Feeding Success Story   Providing Life-Saving Meals

Sometimes, one meal can mean the difference between life and death. For Javier, it was seven meals that saved his life.  The 10-month-old orphan weighed just under 9 pounds — little more than a newborn — when he was rescued by a Cross-supported nutrition center in Honduras. Medical Success Story   $6 Baby Aspirin Saves Children

Back in 2005, the government of the Solomon Islands, a nation of about 1,000 islands located off the coast of Australia, was on the verge of collapse. Schools and clinics had closed, all of the expatriate doctors had left the hospitals, and in some places the people were even without fresh water. The people came to Cross asking for help, saying that an average of 42 children were dying in their sleep every week from a high fever. Cross sent a container of aid with everything from food and medical equipment to antibiotics.  Read More....
     
Solar Panels Success Story   Bringing Light

A local church in Butare, a remote mountain village in western Uganda, had a big problem. They ran a primary and secondary school for 930 poor children and a clinic that served nearly 5,000 poor villagers each year, but they had no electricity for the buildings. The church learned that specialized solar panels, which would harness the sun’s energy in an efficient and affordable way, were the answer to their problem. However, they did not have the means to purchase them, since they were poor villagers who survived by subsistence farming.  Read More....
