Cross International Catholic Outreach is part of the Cross International Alliance – an ecumenical Christian effort founded to help the poor worldwide. Cross International Catholic Outreach is also home to our special Preachers Program and our direct efforts to help Catholic priests and nuns with social ministries overseas.

Our ministry's service to the poor is directed by two key staff members, Jim Cavnar, the President of Cross International Catholic Outreach, and David Adams, who serves as the Vice President of International Missions.

Our Board of Directors:

The board of directors for Cross International Catholic Outreach is dedicated to supporting Catholic ministries worldwide.  As this ministry expands, we also hope to build stronger relationships between these parishes and the churches in the United States . In this way, the spiritual wealth found in many Caribbean , Latin American and African countries can bless the Catholics of America. Key board members and leadership staff include:

His Emminence William Cardinal Keeler - Patron
His Emminence William Cardinal Keeler recently retired as the 14th Archbishop of Baltimore.  Long respected as a champion of the poor worldwide, Cardinal Keeler serves as the spritiual leader of the board of directors.

Most Rev. Sam G. Jacobs - Chairman of the Board
Most Rev. Sam Jacobs is the Bishop of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.  He has traveled throughout the world to champion the cause of spiritual renewal.

James Cavnar, President and Director
Jim Cavnar brings more than 35 years of ministry experience to the daily operations of Cross International Catholic Outreach.  His efforts in relief work have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars worth of aid being supplied to churches serving the poor.

Most Rev. Michael R. Cote - Director
Most Rev. Michael R. Cote is the Bishop of the Diocese of Norwich, Connecticut.  Bishop Cote has long been a champion of the poorest of the poor, especially in Haiti.

Most Rev. Edward J. Slattery - Director
Most Rev. Edward J. Slattery was ordained a bishop in 1994 by Pope John Paul II and was named the Third Bishop of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Most Rev. Carlos A. Sevilla - Director
Most Rev. Carlos A. Sevilla was ordained in 1966 and is very involved with the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops in social justice issues.

Sister Linda Koontz - Director
As the founder of Spirit of the Lord International Mission, Sister Linda Koontz is a long-time advocate for the poor and brings years of direct ministry experience to her work with Cross International Catholic Outreach.

Bishop Kevin W. Vann, JCD, DD
Bishop Kevin W. Vann was ordained and installed as the third bishop of the Diocese of Fort Worth on Wednesday, July 13, 2005. In July 2008 we were pleased to welcome him as our newest member of the Board of Directors.

Most Rev. Richard J. Garcia, D.D. - Diocese of Monterey
