I hope all of you enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving holiday. Keeping with the spirit of gratitude, I would like to share a heartwarming letter of thanks from a student in Ecuador who was rescued from the streets by our partner Chicos de la Calle (Children of the Street).
Please be blessed as you hear from 14-year-old Karen. She used to spend her days surrounded by drug-related violence and the constant threat of human trafficking—but because of Cross Catholic’s support, now she has been given a safe shelter, an education, and much to be thankful for.
Hi, my name is Karen Delgado Sosa. I came to the Chicos de la Calle center five years ago. They helped me to behave well and become educated. I thank the teachers that have been patient with me and taught me to be respectful. They are impacting my life in a special way. I have learned to value people.
Thank you also to those who provided the school scholarships that have permitted me to continue my studies. I love to study and my goal is to be a good professional and encourage other children to study. You have opened the doors to give me and the other children opportunities to be able to participate in many different activities.
I thank every heart that has helped me have high self-esteem and become a respectful person.
God bless you,
Karen
