Photo Blog: Spotlight on Microenterprise

June 8, 2012 by Cross Catholic Blog

We’ve all heard the old adage that says, “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.” This sentiment gets to the heart of why microenterprise is an important element of helping the poor escape poverty. Providing job training, small business loans and trade skills to the poor helps them become self-sufficient and restores their dignity. Cross Catholic Outreach supports a variety of ministries with microenterprise programs, from farming to furniture-making. It’s just one part of providing holistic care for the poor!
