Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
When Africans observe the celebration of the Mass, they really celebrate!
Here’s a video clip of parishioners joyfully worshiping together in the Tete province of Mozambique. They’ve come to sing, dance, pray and give of what little they have for the church offering. The scene reminds me of Psalm 100, “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” It also evokes 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Cross Catholic Outreach staff attended the service at the invitation of Sr. Maria Paula of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, whose Tete Center for Vulnerable Children & Adults relies on our annual support.
