Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
We just received a heartwarming letter from our long-time ministry partner Mother Joan Clare, director of Queen of Peace Children’s Home in the Philippines. Cross Catholic Outreach helps Mother Joan Clare and the Compassionate Franciscan Sisters of the Poor provide protection, love and care to orphaned and vulnerable children in desperate need. With their loving support, more than 50 resident children receive nutritious food, life-saving medical care and an academic and spiritual education that is helping them lay a foundation for a better life. Here is how Queen of Peace, Cross Catholic and our wonderful supporters are making a difference in the life of one of those precious children:
Rochelle is 8 years old. Her mother abandoned her four years ago, and if it wasn’t for the kindness of strangers who took her in and gave her temporary shelter, Rochelle could have died. Ever since, she has gone from one custodian to another until finally arriving here at Queen of Peace.
Though Rochelle’s young life has been difficult, now she is happy.
When she came, Rochelle was completely uneducated. So we enrolled her in school. Now she is doing great! She is a bright second grade student who loves to learn new things. In fact, I am excited to report that she is currently ranked first in her class!
Though Rochelle’s young life has been difficult, now she is happy. Thank you!
