Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Cross Catholic Outreach
Boca Raton, Florida, June 07, 2019 – Scotus Central Catholic School will host a food packing event on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 8:30AM. An expected 150-200 volunteers will pack 40,000 meals in four hours for shipment to hungry families overseas. The event is coordinated and organized by Cross Catholic Outreach in collaboration with the Columbus Squires, which is sponsoring it.
An estimated 1 billion people go to bed hungry each night. In the poorest countries, families sometimes go days without food, and 16,000 children die every day from hunger related causes. Saturday’s food packing event is a great opportunity for the community to rally together to help fight hunger around the globe. /https://crosscatholic.org/campaign-youth-vs-hunger/
When the packing is completed, Cross Catholic Outreach will ship the food to Catholic partners in Guatemala or Haiti, depending on most urgent need. You can see a food packing event in action: /https://crosscatholic.org/campaign-youth-vs-hunger/
