Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Cross Catholic Outreach
Jim Cavnar was interviewed on Sacred Heart Radio/EWTN Global Catholic Network’s Son Rise Morning Show with Matt Swaim. The interview starts at about 48:47.
Cavnar, president of Cross Catholic Outreach, described the Box of Joy Ministry and its efforts to bring Christmas joy to poor children in developing countries. Catholic parishes, schools and groups nationwide organize Boxes of Joy by packing the boxes with small gifts.
Participants include $9 in each box to cover shipment from the local drop-off center to the child. “Box of Joy is a beautiful work of mercy for families to participate in together,” said Cavnar.
Cavnar and Swaim explained that the 2021 Box of Joy outreach kicks off in September, and groups deliver gifts to their local drop-off centers during Box of Joy Week, Nov. 6-14. Any group that misses Box of Joy Week can ship their gifts to the National Screening Center in Miami. Swaim challenged the audience to help pack a Box of Joy — by doing so, 100,000 kids would be blessed!
