Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Cross Catholic Outreach
Fr. Rob Jack interviewed Jim Cavnar, president of Cross Catholic Outreach, about the Box of Joy ministry. Cavnar, described the Box of Joy ministry and its efforts to bring Christmas joy to poor children in developing countries. Nationwide, Catholic parishes, schools and groups pack Boxes of Joy by with small gifts to bless children in need.
He explained that participants include $9 in each box to cover the cost of shipping costs from the local drop-off center to the child’s home country. “Box of Joy is a beautiful work of mercy for families to participate in together,” said Cavnar.
Cavnar and Fr. Rob explained that the 2021 Box of Joy outreach kicks off in September, and parish and school groups will deliver gifts to local drop-off centers during Box of Joy Week, Nov. 6-14. Any group that misses Box of Joy Week can ship their gifts to the National Screening Center in Miami. Fr. Rob invited his audience to participate by packing a Box of Joy. By getting involved, 100,000 kids will be blessed!
