Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Brian Smith, the PA State Faith Director, has served in various Knights of Columbus leadership roles over the years. In this past year, his leadership with the Knights influenced thousands of lives as he encouraged and supported local councils to participate in programs that served the poor around the world.
Last March, Brian hosted the inaugural virtual retreat created specifically for Knights by Father Dave Caron, O.P. of Cross Catholic Outreach.
Brian also helped launch Box of Joy® in his state last year. Because of his efforts and those of many local PA councils, the Knights blessed thousands of children in developing countries with gifts! Looking ahead, Brian is introducing Knights to a new and exciting way to put their faith into action. This June, Knights and families from throughout the Harrisburg Diocese will gather to pack 40,000 meals for the poor! This food packing event is one of many that Knights from across the country are participating in to send one million meals to feed the hungry this fraternal year.
We are proud to recognize Brian for putting his faith into action through his continued support of our impactful programs.
Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
