Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Chris Powers, Maryland state deputy, lives by a simple motto: “Cry the gospel with your life.” By supporting Cross Catholic Outreach programs, he encourages his fellow Knights to do the same.
Chris has been involved in three food-packing events as well as a virtual retreat led by Father David Caron, O.P., and has helped with multiple Box of Joy ® events. His family is often seen beside him in his pursuit of living a Christ-centered life. In fact, First Lady Annie Powers led other women in packing 154 Box of Joy gifts during the Maryland Fall Meeting.
We are incredibly grateful to Chris for furthering the mission of the Church and prioritizing outreaches to the poor. His faith in action has been an inspiration to others, and we are proud to honor him this month.

Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
