Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
For his tireless work on behalf of the poor, Cross Catholic Outreach honors Alex Lopez-Bueno, a Maryland Knight. He has also served in the role of Box of Joy® Program Chairman for the past four years. In that time, he has enabled the ministry to soar to new heights, involving more families and making it possible for thousands of vulnerable children to receive Christmas gifts! In fact, Alex encouraged 49 councils and ladies’ auxiliaries to participate in the ministry this past fall, an amazing accomplishment that resulted in 5,597 gifts being donated to children who might otherwise not receive a present!
Chosen as “Volunteers of the Year” by the Montgomery County Catholic Business Network, Alex and his wife, Catalina, are inspiring examples of Catholics putting their faith-in-action through their service to both their local parish and to the larger Catholic community. We are grateful for their generosity toward the Universal Church, blessing so many children through their partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach!

Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
