Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
In the first Gospel reading for Palm Sunday in Matthew 21:1-11, Jesus makes his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. Waving their palm branches, the people shout:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:9)
You can make this story come alive for your children with a fun Palm Sunday craft. You only need a few materials to get started.
Note: Any of these items can be substituted for something similar. For instance, a ruler could be used in the place of a popsicle stick. Be creative when collecting your items!
This Lent, Cross Catholic Outreach ministry partners are providing material and spiritual aid to families around the world, but we need your help. As you pray, fast and give this Lenten season, would you consider making a gift to Cross Catholic Outreach to support our work in developing countries? Browse our Easter Catalog for other giving opportunities that include clean water wells, safe housing, providing education, and meeting the most urgent needs of children and families.
Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
