Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
George Brown of Council No. 6451 in Hickory, North Carolina is a Past Grand Knight with a passion for service. In fact, when he learned of the unique opportunity to bless children with Cross Catholic Outreach’s Box of Joy® ministry three years ago, he quickly launched the outreach in his parish. And he didn’t stop there! George went on to encourage other local councils and parishes to participate as well.
Since then, George has led efforts in his community to bless more than 1,500 children with Box of Joy! He is setting a wonderful example of a Knight putting his faith into action and helping others do the same.
We believe George Brown has beautifully walked in the steps of Blessed Michael McGivney by serving the poor and caring for children in need. This Lenten season we are honored to feature him as our “Light on a Knight.” Join George and encourage your council to lead a Box of Joy event for the community.
