Light on a Knight — July 2023

This month, we shift our focus to feature not one Knight, but an entire council! Saints Simon and Jude Council No. 17653 in The Woodlands, Texas, received top honors at the 2023 Texas State Convention for their involvement in faith-based activities offered by Cross Catholic Outreach. The council’s submission was a retreat created and directed by Father Dave Caron, O.P.

On the morning of Sept. 24, 2022, more than 75 Catholic men and Knights gathered to participate in Cross Catholic Outreach’s retreat titled “A Father’s Heart: Celebrate St. Joseph, Protector of the Holy Family.” The powerful and uplifting retreat experience included Mass, breakout group discussions and presentations by a local Knight and Cross Catholic Outreach’s CEO and co-founder, Jim Cavnar.

We are honored to have partnered with the local Knights in this Houston-area parish to make this such a meaningful and award-winning experience!
