Light on a Knight: Jim Landowski

Indiana Past Grand Knight Jim Landowski has a passion for blessing children! For the past three years, he has served as project leader for his council’s Box of Joy^® ministry and has successfully run one of the most inspiring efforts within the state. In fact, Jim and Council No. 10596 in Munster, Indiana, are planning to bless more than 500 children with a gift this Christmas. Their efforts this Fall will be the largest scale launch of this ministry they have done to date!

The Box of Joy ministry offers all Knights a unique opportunity to put their faith in action. As Jim said, “The joy on the faces of the people who pick up the boxes and fill them is unmistakable. And if we are ever going to change this world from hate to the love that Jesus taught us, we need to begin with the children.”

In addition to his amazing work with Box of Joy, Jim has served as Grand Knight, Council Community Director and State Community Director during his 10 years as a member of the Order. In every leadership role, Jim has demonstrated an ability to mobilize Knights and their families on behalf of those in need.

All of us at Cross Catholic Outreach are inspired by Jim, his council and all the Knights who work so passionately to bless children with a Box of Joy gift each Christmas season. We are especially proud to honor Jim as our “Light on a Knight” this month.
