Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
At Cross Catholic Outreach, we consider it a blessing to partner with Knights nationwide who passionately support our Box of Joy ministry, and this month’s “Light on a Knight” features one of those men. Grand Knight Vince Krajcir of Council 14773 located at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, continually inspires Knights, families and fellow parishioners to bless a child with a Box of Joy gift each fall.
As Vince said, “There is nothing more special than seeing a young child’s eyes filled with joy and love from our Catholic families. I believe our Box of Joy gifts were the least we could do to help those loving children of God. This small act of kindness helped our Council to receive STAR Council this past fraternal year!”
As a U.S. Navy veteran, with a successful career spanning more than 39 years, Vince shared that it was his military experience that shaped him into “the good servant I try to be today.” In fact, the lessons he learned while on active duty serve Vince in his current role with the Knights. Part of that role involves engaging his council and the larger community in supporting the Box of Joy ministry.
Cross Catholic Outreach honors Vince and all Knights who faithfully work to bless children with a Box of Joy gift each Christmas. Blessed Michael McGivney had a special place in his heart for widows, children and the poor. He would be proud to know that Knights like Vince are putting their faith into action and following in his footsteps.
