New Bishop Endorsement: Most Rev. David Toups

Cross Catholic Outreach continues to win the support of Catholic bishops in the United States. In April 2024, Bishop David Toups of the Diocese of Beaumont graciously wrote a letter of endorsement recognizing our collaboration with Catholic missionaries around the world, saying, “Cross Catholic Outreach has admirably assisted bishops and Catholic missionaries around the world for many years now in addressing the material and spiritual needs of the poor … only when the entire social ecology of the human person is addressed can there be conversion of heart and thus lasting change … for your work approaching the problem of global poverty with the model of Integral Human Development, you have my prayers and encouragement.”

Bishop Toups’ support is a significant milestone. Cross Catholic Outreach is blessed with the support of the majority of all Catholic bishops in Texas and a majority of all United States Catholic bishops.

Father Dave Caron, O.P.

Fr. David G. Caron, O.P., joined Cross Catholic Outreach in 2021. Previously he was the Director of the Office of Evangelization and was the Promoter of the Jubilee Year of Mercy for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. In 2015, he was named a Missionary of Mercy by Pope Francis and continues to serve in that capacity. Fr. Dave previously served as President and Assistant Professor of Liturgical and Sacramental Theology of Aquinas Institute of Theology. A former diocesan priest and parish administrator, he joined the Dominican Order in 2000. In addition to pursuing his passions of preaching, leadership development, evangelization, and liturgy, Fr. Dave has a deep admiration for Pope Francis’ invitation to the whole Church to go to the peripheries and there “accompany” the poor and others by modeling God’s mercy.
