Male religious are an integral part of most dioceses in the United States. These orders, with a variety of charisms, work in many areas, including parishes, outreach, education, evangelization, prison and hospital chaplaincies and more. These men live the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience as a sign of their radical availability and fruitfulness for God, the Church and the world. No matter the diversity of charism or mission, religious men tend to have a heart for the poor, living out the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Cross Catholic Outreach is intentionally seeking to grow our relationship with the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM) in the United States for two reasons. First, to get the mission of Cross Catholic Outreach better known among the superiors and their members so that they can assist us in our ministry of serving the poor internationally. Second, as superiors, they would be cognizant of their priest-members who are at retirement age or going on academic sabbaticals who may have the time and availability to become a part-time Outreach Priest with Cross Catholic Outreach, preaching on the Sunday scriptures in parishes across the U.S. and sharing inspiring stories about Cross Catholic Outreach’s ministry sites, all while giving the pastor the weekend off.
Cross Catholic Outreach attended the CMSM National Assembly in Atlanta this summer, and we are happy to report many meaningful conversations and connections. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the CMSM.

Donations from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2027, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
