Imagine living under the weight of the constant insecurity caused by hope-draining generational poverty. Tragically, that has become the reality for many boys and girls in developing countries. Growing up in that extreme level of poverty, impoverished children and their families live in homes exposed to inclement weather, resort to drinking unsafe water, and sacrifice school because the cost is too great a burden for their family. In fact, for many poor families struggling to put food on the table, a sturdy roof and walls are considered a luxury.
That’s why Cross Catholic Outreach partners with Catholic leaders around the world to ensure that children can wake up in a home safe, dry and well rested each morning. From Guatemala to Ethiopia to the Philippines, families are receiving homes that can withstand hurricanes, keep animals and intruders away, and relieve some of the financial burden of renting or repairing their current makeshift shelters — and it’s only possible because of faithful U.S. Catholics.
In a special way, we are excited to continue working alongside the Kobonal Haiti Mission, as they work toward their goal of housing 44 families this year. This incredible mission of mercy continues to be a beacon of hope in Haiti’s Central Plateau despite the unrest in the nation’s capital. This Easter, we invite you to help gift a new home to the families in Haiti served by this mission.
For years, Odenet Filistin lived in a tent with his wife and five children, suffering the hardships those living conditions created.
When it rained, he and his family had to work quickly to cover the floors with basins to catch the water. If the floor did get wet, they quickly covered the wet areas with dirt in an attempt to stay dry and not get sick. Odenet said his old home was a penance, due to its one room and its mud walls and floors.
When the family moved into a new home provided by the Kobonal Haiti Mission, it was nothing short of life changing. Many other families in Haiti and around the globe anxiously await the opportunity afforded to Odenet and his family. You can be a source of hope by helping our ministry partners build homes.

Donations from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2027, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
