Throughout Easter, the daily readings and Sunday Gospels focus on the events between the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus, where he speaks the words of the Great Commission to go out to all nations.
At Cross Catholic Outreach, we embrace Christ’s call and have made it our mission to “mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ.”
For nearly 25 years, we have partnered with ministries in developing countries to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, house needy families, educate vulnerable children, and provide for the most urgent needs of impoverished communities.
It is a blessing to work alongside Christ-centered ministries throughout Central America, the Caribbean, Africa and Southeast Asia. One of the reasons we treasure these relationships is because our partners go beyond addressing the material needs of beneficiaries to care for their souls as well.
In the countries where our partners serve, more homes are built, food is distributed and clean water wells are installed — and there is also an increase in the number of baptisms, First Communions and Mass attendees.
For example, many leaders of the Kobonal Haiti Mission have shared that God has transformed the community since the mission’s founder arrived and started offering Mass more than 30 years ago. The people’s joy and faith are deeply felt, and it is inspiring more young men and women to receive the sacraments. One recent First Communicant shared, “I would see many people in line to get communion while at Church and I wondered when it would be my time.”
As we continue through the Easter season and prepare our hearts for this Great Commission in each of our lives, bring to prayer the following Resurrection accounts found in the Gospels:
The Resurrection of Jesus is the definitive proof that there is a love stronger than death (Song of Solomon 8:6) — that’s why we share that blessed news with all people in all nations. In fact, we believe spiritual outreach is important in all we do. The revelation of God’s love gives hope to desperately poor men, women and children worldwide and increases the impact of the work our ministry partners do every day!
As we continue through this Easter season, please join us in spreading the love of Christ and proclaiming the joy of his resurrection by providing for the poor both materially and spiritually.
Donations from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2027, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
