Food Packing 2020

Diocese of Palm Beach Office of Catholic Schools in Partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach Help the Hungry Overseas

120,000 Meals Packed in Three Hours

at Three Florida Catholic Schools

On January 17, 2020, school teachers and administrators from throughout the Diocese of Palm Beach joined together with Cross Catholic Outreach in the fight against world hunger.

An estimated 400 volunteers spent their morning packing a total of 120,000 meals at three different Catholic schools in the diocese: St. Joan of Arc, John Carroll and Cardinal Newman.

The event marks the first time a Diocesan School Staff Service Day has brought all Catholic schools administrative and teaching staff together, in partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach, for a Faith in Action Project.

Their service will allow Cross Catholic Outreach to provide its ministry partners overseas with nutrient-rich Vitafood. This will feed malnourished children and families in poverty-stricken countries like Guatemala, Haiti and Nicaragua for as little as 25 cents a meal.
