Food Packing Events

Join the movement to feed the hungry through the love of Christ!

Nearly one billion people go to bed hungry each night. In the poorest countries, families sometimes go days without food. Nearly 16,000 children die from hunger related causes each day; that’s one child every five seconds.

Join the movement to feed the hungry through the love of Christ — food packing events are led by parishes, schools or organizations engaging in a revolution against world hunger. These events bring communities and parishes together to pack Vitafood packets and raise the funds necessary to ship this life-saving food to the poorest of the poor around the world.

FAQ's
Be a part of the revolution to end world hunger!

”When I was hungry, you gave me food…”

Matthew 25:35

Tonight, nearly one billion people around the world will go to bed hungry. In developing countries, the poorest of the poor cannot find enough food to sustain their families. Without food, many lack the strength to work or attend school; in the worst cases, hunger leads to starvation and even death. The victims of malnutrition include orphans, school children, elderly and families who lack the resources to be able to eat each day.

Catholic priests, sisters and lay-missionaries in developing countries want to rescue the most vulnerable and give them life-saving food along with the Gospel-message. Jesus calls us to put our faith into action and provide for others — to be part of a love revolution — a flash mob of compassion. With your help, we can provide the resources these missionaries need to care for the “least of these,” as they work tirelessly to provide both physical and spiritual nourishment to their communities.

PARTNERING WITH CROSS CATHOLIC OUTREACH – Your parish, school or organization can fight world hunger by hosting a event. This event brings your community together to pack Vitafood and raise the funds necessary to ship this life-saving food to the poorest of the poor around the world.

Vitafood is a nutrient-rich food product scientifically designed to meet the dietary needs of chronically malnourished children and adults. The fortified rice, vegetable and soy products are designed to quickly restore the health of malnourished children and provide a reliable source of food to orphanages, schools and hungry families. Meals are sealed in airtight packets to prolong shelf-life and maximize the number of meals shipped in each container. Cross Catholic Outreach ministry partners rely on shipments of Vitafood to feed hundreds of thousands of meals to hungry children and families in poverty-stricken areas such as Haiti, Nicaragua and Guatemala. For just 33 cents per meal, Cross Catholic can cost-effectively purchase and ship Vitafood meals hand-packed by you!

Invite your family, friends and colleagues to join you. Collaborate with other area parishes, schools and organizations to start a community-wide movement. Come together as the Body of Christ to change the world!

An event will pack a minimum of 40,000 meals, each meal costing 33 cents, for a total of $13,200. The more money you raise, the more meals that can be delivered to malnourished children around the world. If you want to dream big, 285,120 meals can be shipped for $85,536.  Think of the impact!

We encourage you to raise awareness throughout your entire community concerning the problem of world hunger.  Encourage local involvement by soliciting corporate and individual sponsorships. CHANGE YOUR WORLD by raising funds through a variety of fun activities, including car washes, bake sales, auctions and so much more!

Cross Catholic Outreach

Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2022, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
