Cross Catholic Outreach supports ministries such as Casa Niño Esperanza, run by the Sisters of Providence, that feed and care for children in Guatemala City. If not for the sisters’ ministry, many of these boys and girls would continue down a destructive path, resorting to violence or joining a gang just to survive.
One the children they’ve rescued is Isaac, 6, who lives with his nine siblings in a crumbling house made of old aluminum and rusted tin. His single mother collects plastic bottles to feed the children, but doing so isn’t enough to meet her family’s basic needs. When Isaac first arrived at Casa Niño Esperanza, he was malnourished and weak. But all of that changed thanks to the nutrition Isaac received from the sisters. Now he is growing in mind, body and spirit!
