At least half of the world’s people do not have access to essential medical services, either because they cannot afford care or because they live in remote communities that are too far from hospitals and clinics. Under these circumstances, even a minor ailment can turn into a life-or-death health crisis, simply because it is not treated in time.
You have the power to end this suffering through combined Catholic charity. By supporting Catholic medical missions in developing nations, you can reach families with effective health care and share Christ’s mercy in the midst of their most difficult trials.
Your generosity will empower ministries such as the Grand’Anse Health and Development Association (GAHDA) to provide lifesaving care for families in Haiti and around the world. Give now to save lives and bring healing in Jesus’ name!
A gift of $5,000 will bless many lives — but any gift will make an incredible impact!
Haiti has only about 23 physicians for every 100,000 people in the nation — and even if a family can reach a doctor, they may not be able to afford care. Among households that did not consult a professional, 49% cited financial limitations. Lack of affordable care and health education contributes to the very high risk of infectious diseases. According to the World Health Organization, Haiti’s infant mortality rate is still five times higher than the regional average.
GAHDA is striving to provide a solution for Haiti’s sick and struggling families by providing free, accessible health care; supporting skills development for Haitian health professionals; and empowering families with health education, animal husbandry programs and more. Following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 2021, we airlifted 3,200 pounds of relief supplies, which GAHDA helped distribute to at least 17 rural health clinics treating survivors.

Without additional funding, medicines and other resources, organizations like GAHDA simply cannot address the overwhelming needs in their regions.
After Haiti’s 2021 earthquake, many people were in need of medical attention. GAHDA helped us rush medicines and supplies to rural health clinics like this one.
Working together as the hands and feet of Christ, we can extend hope and healing around the world. When you donate to care for the sick through Cross Catholic Outreach, you provide support for:
The critical funding you provide allows our partners to operate health facilities, pay essential staff, and reach remote communities with mobile clinics and health trainings.
We receive donations of medicines and medical supplies — and you can help us ship those lifesaving resources to hospitals, clinics and other outreaches in developing countries worldwide.
Wildine Zepherin is the primary caregiver for her elderly mother and young son in the community of Enot, Haiti.
When any member of Wildine’s household falls ill, they must travel to the city of Chambellan, which lies on the other side of a river. There is no bridge, so mothers like Wildine must wade through the water, carrying their children in their arms. If it has rained recently and the river is too high, they cannot reach the hospital at all.
“I ask God to give me direction,” Wildine said, “to protect my child, my family and me.”
Provide merciful medical care for families like Wildine’s.
Wildine and her son were able to receive care at a mobile clinic supported by GAHDA — but many other mothers and children remain in need!

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2023, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
When you include Cross Catholic Outreach as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement account or life insurance policy, you will make a difference for poor communities by meeting both material and spiritual needs for generations to come. Create Your Legacy!
