Hurricane Dorian Aid

Hurricane Dorian, the fourth named hurricane of the 2019 season, tied the record for the most powerful hurricane to make landfall in the Bahamas. At its most powerful, Hurricane Dorian was listed as a Category 5 major hurricane, peaking with one-minute sustained winds of 185 mph and generating destructive gusts over 220 mph (355 km/h).

In addition to unleashing massive flooding across the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian completely destroyed numerous homes and buildings, wiping out entire neighborhoods and leaving many homeless and in need of immediate assistance.

Cross Catholic Outreach is working with Catholic Charities of Miami and the Archdiocese of Nassau to provide much-needed food and medical supplies to affected families and children.

Cross Catholic Outreach

Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps to breaks the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.

When you select an aid project, your donation to that project will be used to cover any expenditures for the project incurred through June 30, 2020, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
