Last November, back-to-back storms devastated Central America. Hurricane Iota slammed into Nicaragua as a Category 4 storm on nearly the same devastating path Hurricane Eta took just two weeks earlier.
Eta’s sustained winds of 140 MPH ripped roofs from homes, uprooted trees and knocked down power lines. Torrential rain, flash flooding and landslides quickly became life-threatening problems across Central America, weakening the region for a second brutal blow by Iota.
Millions were affected, including our Catholic ministry partners serving the poor. Thanks to the generous donations we received, Cross Catholic Outreach was able to work quickly to deliver much-needed relief supplies sending grants and shipping 262 pallets of relief materials to our ministry partners in effected countries including Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
Please join us in praying the Protection from Storms prayer and giving generously to deliver immediate aid to our brothers and sisters in need.
