International Day

for the Eradication of Poverty 2019

Help fight poverty and provide a more secure future for families and communities

October 17 is a day of international observance that is close to the heart of Cross Catholic Outreach’s global relief and development ministry: the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.  Since 1987, this day of observance has brought awareness of the plight of hundreds of millions of impoverished people across the globe.

The theme for 2019: Acting Together to Empower Children, their Families and Communities to End Poverty.

We believe empowering communities and breaking the cycle of poverty requires material and spiritual transformation, so Cross Catholic Outreach works with Catholic dioceses around the world to share the faith and provide aid to the poorest of the poor.

Supplying food to Catholic feeding centers is one example of how compassionate Christians like you have helped to alleviate the suffering of the poor. For many impoverished families, the simple gift of food supplied by Catholic missions is an answer to prayer. Without the meals you help us provide, many children around the world might not eat today.

For nearly two decades, Cross Catholic Outreach has provided life-changing humanitarian aid to those suffering under extreme poverty. By working with Catholic-based ministries throughout the world, Cross Catholic Outreach delivers food, shelter, medical care, water, education, self-help programs, care for orphans, and emergency relief to the poorest of the poor –

all in the name of Jesus Christ.
