Cross Catholic Outreach traveled to St. Louis to interview board member Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski. Due to renovations at the Cathedral of St. Louis, we had to move downtown and film the interview in the Basilica of King Louis of France, which is steps away from the iconic St. Louis Gateway Arch. It was a beautiful worship space, and the archbishop spoke eloquently about the work of Cross Catholic Outreach. In particular, he reflected on how Cross Catholic Outreach reaches out to the poor in such a way that benefits them not only for the short term but for the long term as well.
His Eminence Cardinal Winton Gregory of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., reflects on his role as patron of Cross Catholic Outreach and the importance of serving the poorest of the poor around the world.
In 2019, when Archbishop Cordileone joined the Cross Catholic Outreach board of directors, he commented, “I look forward to helping Cross Catholic in its collaboration with the Universal Catholic Church and it’s support of the charitable works of the Holy Father.” We were blessed to sit down with the archbishop at the beginning of 2022 to answer some more detailed questions about the mission of serving the poor around the world. Speaking from the Vatican recently, His Eminence Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson commended Cross Catholic Outreach for being a dependable benefactor of projects that promote the development of peoples. As prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, Cardinal Turkson guides our ministry to support projects close to the heart of the Holy Father Pope Francis. In our interview, Cardinal Turkson spoke on Catholic social teaching and the significance of the Holy See’s endorsement of Cross Catholic Outreach in 2015.
Cross Catholic Outreach was recently blessed to receive a visit from His Eminence Álvaro Leonel Cardinal Ramazzini Imeri. Elevated to the College of Cardinals just a few months ago by Pope Francis because of his love for the poor, Cardinal Ramazzini led devotions at our office, met individually with our staff and concluded his visit with a Mass at St. Coleman’s Catholic Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. This year, Cross Catholic Outreach began providing food and medical supplies to the poor in Cardinal Ramazzini’s Diocese of Huehuetenago in Guatemala.
Cross Catholic Outreach’s Clergy and Diocesan Relations department also recently sat down with our ministry partners from the Caribbean country of Grenada, including His Excellency Bishop Clyde Harvey of the Diocese of St. George’s.
