Reports To:

Director of Human Resources & Payroll

Position Summary:

The Human Resources assistant assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative work, including scheduling, maintaining files and handling mail for the Human Resources Department
  • Enter employment data into computer database
  • Offer proactive recruiting assistance
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including submitting job postings internally and online and scheduling candidate interviews
  • Assist HR Manager with the hiring process
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training sessions
  • Schedule and coordinate the New Hires Breakfast
  • Assist with the Wellness Program coordination including meetings, events, and office challenges
  • Assist with employees request such as employment verification any benefit claim issues or concerns
  • Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner
  • Prepare new employee files
  • Maintain current HR files and databases
  • Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the Human Resources
  • Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested

  • Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Cross.

Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree in HR-related field required (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 5+ years’ related administrative experience
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Solid understanding of MS Office
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills

Education or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
