Position Summary:

The M&E/Post-Award Coordinator is responsible for implementing and monitoring the functions necessary to manage grants from the time they are awarded until the completion of the grant-funded activity. This position encompasses two major functions that involve various data-related tasks: 1) the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of grant measurables to ensure project success; 2) managing the reporting obligations of all grants, which will include various reporting schedules and deliverables depending upon the funders’ requirements.

The responsibilities of this position include identifying the most effective M&E for each project proposed; articulating M&E strategies pre-award; and interpreting success using M&E strategies post-award, This position manages the data-related aspects of grant writing and reporting for both internal and external use, including ongoing data tracking and management, general documentation, and the formal presentation of data in grant reports, whether written or verbal, external or internal, to various audiences. This position involves collaboration with Missions Expansion (MX) teammates, International Program Officers (IPOs) and Gifts In Kind (GIK) staff in the monitoring and evaluation of key projects, in order to tabulate and report on program specific initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Missions Expansion & Grants Administration, the M&E/Post- Award Coordinator will be highly organized, with a solid knowledge of data collection and interpretation for evaluation of program outcomes and impact. S/he must have strong writing skills, impeccable attention to detail and experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data. S/he must have the ability to multi-task, to communicate professionally to external and internal stakeholders, and to understand multiple programmatic sector areas.

S/he must be computer literate, with a strong background in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SurveyCTO and Zengine software is a plus. The candidate should be comfortable working with databases and have a good understanding of the nonprofit as well as the international relief and development fields. Experience with USAID grant preparation is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with MX teammates, IPOs and GIK staff to develop the M&E sections of grant applications/proposals. This will require working hand in hand with overseas partners, and includes active participation in pre- and post- meetings with staff, partners and funders.
  • Where applicable or when the opportunity exists, provide leadership and guidance to the development and implementation of software tools and instruments that enable the partners and the Programs team to conduct assessment through baseline surveys at the onset of programs; use these instruments to keep track of progress within monitoring/evaluation reports.
  • Analyze data to inform program design. Provide direction and subject matter expertise regarding milestones realization, burn rate, partner progress and other aspects that would lead to the realization of outputs and outcomes.
  • Work closely with MX teammates, IPOs and GIK staff to perform analysis, formatting, and presentation of project and institutional quantitative and qualitative data and narratives for written reports.
  • Design data collection instruments for reporting, including software-based survey tools, partner interviews, relevant questionnaires, reports that tabulate results, and handling training and capacity building of program partners.
  • Provide support to programmatic teams in streamlining processes for project-specific data management and reporting.
  • Proactively identify key programmatic components for further evaluation and analysis.
  • Work in close collaboration with MX teammates, IPOs and GIK staff to perform data analysis, internal and external project reporting to assess progress towards achievement of targets, as well as support results-based decision-making by programmatic teams.
  • Analyze and present institutional and project-specific achievements and challenges in the form of mid-term or final reporting to internal and external audiences, including collaboration building presentations to be used during executive and other meetings.
  • Work closely with MX teammates, IPOs and GIK staff to coordinate the evaluation of global, regional, initiatives, capture, and disseminate best practices emerging from these projects.
  • Support the inclusion of data analysis, evaluation reports and documented best practices for internal reference.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Require/Preferred:

  • Ability to work with diverse teams; flexibility in working with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to dedicate approximately 30% of work time to travel.
  • Accuracy; ability to work within deadlines.
  • Flexibility for working with diverse cultures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with databases and basic software.
  • Ability to work with statistical databases and/or software for automation of monitoring and evaluation of programs.

Experience Requirements:

  • A relationship with Jesus Christ & advocate of integral human development.
  • At least seven years’ experience monitoring and evaluating programs and/or working with grants.
  • Strong command of the English language; fluent in Spanish and/or French &/or Creole strongly preferred.

Education or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, statistics, or the equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
