Prospect Development Analyst

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Donor Program Services Associate Director, the Prospect Development Analyst is responsible to support the fundraising and engagement strategies of the Parish and Community Services (PCS) team. The Analyst will assist in the cultivation strategies, identify and segment prospect organizations while ensuring the database of record accurately reflects all engagement activity. The Analyst is also a key member of the cross-functional fundraising team that provides prospect strategy and organizational donor pipeline development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in portfolio optimization and strategy meetings providing valuable recommendations based on prospecting tools, engagement levels and other data insights
  • Partner with Parish and Community Services, Gift Planning and individual development teams to refine prospect assignment processes
  • In partnership with other Prospect Development Analysts and other development operational roles, contribute to goals and objectives of overarching strategic plan for data utilization
  • Participate in annual portfolio optimization meetings with PCS officers, with an emphasis on parishes evaluation and liaison assignments
  • In partnership with other Analysts, identify needed fundraising reports and documentation to equip PCS team with tools they need to track progress towards goals and metrics
  • Serve as liaison between PCS and other prospect development roles within DPS
  • Develops data visualizations, key performance indicators and drill-thru dashboards to assist in telling the parishioner tithing story tracking giving and parish performance
  • Contribute to development of short- and long-term technology strategic plans
  • Partners with subject matter experts to enhance business processes within PCS that align with overall technology infrastructure with focus on the CRM
  • Works with prospect development to build segmentation lists for PCS team members
  • Assists with overall requirements gathering and database analysis relative to PCS reports and analytics
  • Provides query-based data analysis for PCS requests
  • Actively work to troubleshoot and collaborate with others on data needs/issues, ensuring business needs have been paired with effective solutions
  • Conduct regular review of available industry tools and services to make recommendations on what should be adopted
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Require/Preferred:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of prospect management/development principles, practices, and tools
  • Mission focused with an appreciation and knowledge of donor-centricity and sound knowledge of fundraising principles
  • Ability to present and communicate data-driven analysis and provide recommendations to inform leadership and drive fundraising and business results
  • Excellent problem-solving skills that demonstrate a range of other competencies such as logic, creativity, resilience, imagination, lateral thinking and determination
  • Skilled in strong oral and written communication to express ideas effectively; skills must include proofreading, editing and report writing abilities
  • Skilled in partnering with key stakeholders, such as fundraising, IT, operations, and vendors, to clearly communicate and prioritize needs, available resources, and system- wide considerations
  • Commitment to professional ethics in working with highly confidential, sensitive information

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years experience in non-profit development, data management or analytics.

Education or Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
