Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Your support empowers the Kobonal Haiti Mission to build sturdy homes and provide holistic ministry for many impoverished families, including a quality Catholic education for students in need.
The Kobonal Haiti Mission meets poor families’ immediate needs by providing food, shelter, water and medical assistance, but the ministry also works to create greater self-sufficiency in poor communities through education, agriculture and microfinance initiatives. Every program at Kobonal is infused with the Gospel and prayer, bringing villagers together to hear the Word and receive the Blessed Sacrament.
Father Glenn Meaux
Founder, Kobonal Haiti Mission
Fr. Glenn Meaux arrived in Kobonal in 1989, to an overwhelming situation. Poverty was rampant and community morale was low. For more than three decades, this dedicated priest has labored to transform a remote, blighted area in Haiti’s Central Plateau into a hope-filled community for Christ. Today, the Kobonal Haiti Mission is a Christ-centered ministry that has helped empower hundreds of families to transform their lives and bring glory to God.
Michelle Sagarino
Vice President of Development, Cross Catholic Outreach
Michele Sagarino had served various charitable organizations through fundraising, and she began contracting with Cross Catholic Outreach in 2004. Today, as VP of development, she leads a staff of 135 people to pursue long-term relationships with benefactors, connecting donors to the missions that God has placed on their hearts.
Cross Catholic Outreach is working with Fr. Glenn Meaux and the Kobonal Haiti Mission to relieve poverty and bring, economic empowerment and spiritual transformation to the poorest of the poor in Haiti’s Central Plateau.
When Fr. Meaux arrived in the small village of Kobonal in 1989, it was entrenched in material and spiritual poverty. He knew that the needs of this impoverished community could not be met just with a plate of food or a safe house — Kobonal’s families needed total life transformation. And this is the kind of transformation that only God can provide.
Fr. Meaux has worked tirelessly to transform one of Haiti’s poorest areas into a robust Catholic community, a true oasis of hope. The people there once struggled under the weight of poverty. Through the mission and its Catholic community, they have found a place of rest and love.
There is still more work to be done for impoverished families in the surrounding area. Your support will enable us to continue to bless the poor with safe shelter, education, clean water, food, microenterprise and agriculture, and to strengthen Christ’s presence among the poor.

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2022, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
When you include Cross Catholic Outreach as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement account or life insurance policy you will make a difference for poor communities by meeting both material and spiritual needs for generations to come. Create Your Legacy!
