Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
Scripture Reading: Matthew 27:11-54; 28:1-10
This passage details Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead, opening the way to eternal life for the world. We are to follow his example by making sacrifices for others.
Reflection:
This week, practice sacrifice for others around you. Sacrifice a few hours to help at the local food bank, or eat at home instead of at a restaurant and place the money your family saves in the collection box.
But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
Matthew 28:5-6
“Holy Week Hunt”
We should always be aware of Christ around us! This week, families will be on the lookout for items that are significant to Holy Week. Place a coin in the collection box each time you see:
In 2018, an estimated 6.2 children and adolescents died, most from preventable causes.

Lord, we come before you to ask that you protect the precious orphans around the world who are dealing with the recent loss of their parents. Give them strength to face a new day, peace to overcome their fears and your love so they know they are never alone. Bring caring adults into their lives to take care of them, and help them grow up strong and in your love. We ask this in the name of our Heavenly Father. Amen.
