One Meal Can Change Everything

With Christmas coming, many of us are looking forward to celebrating our Savior’s birth and enjoying a lavish holiday meal with family and friends. Sadly, for many poor families in Haiti, hunger is a way of life, and a Christmas feast is an impossible dream.

Still, where God is present, there is hope!

You can be someone’s miracle this Christmas by providing nutritious food to families suffering from malnutrition. Our goal is to supply monthly food staples to 250 families in the Central Plateau through our partnership with Father Glenn Meaux and the Kobonal Haiti Mission. In addition to providing food that will meet an immediate need, your gift will also support other relief efforts, such as safe homes, clean water and Catholic evangelization.

Haiti is just one of the many places that will benefit from this Christmas miracle. Your support will also provide food, shelter, safe water, medicine and education to poor families in other developing countries around the world!

Help us bless the poor this Christmas!

Poverty in Haiti

Malnutrition and Unsafe Housing

In Haiti, 58% of the population lives below the poverty line. The impact of poverty is enormous, and many households suffer from malnutrition due to low incomes and poor crop yields. Most of these families also face impoverished living conditions. They live in mud-and-stick homes that offer little or no protection from Haiti’s frequent tropical storms.

There are many other hardships too. Families often walk miles just to collect water from contaminated ponds, streams or holes in the ground. Drinking this water leads to a variety of serious illnesses, including typhoid and cholera.

As these poor families in developing countries struggle to obtain food, clean water, safe shelter, educational opportunities and basic health care, they turn to God with prayers for relief — and wait for a miracle.

God has called his Church to be that light in the darkness, and your support can provide those practical miracles for families in need. Give now!

Kobonal Haiti Mission

For more than 30 years, the Kobonal Haiti Mission has worked tirelessly to transform the lives of the very poor in Haiti. Its initial programs provided nutritious meals to the area’s neediest families, and it has since gone on to help poor communities with safe housing, clean water, medical care, Catholic education, agricultural training, microenterprise and spiritual formation activities.

As the Mission addresses both material and spiritual needs, it also strengthens families in ways that will bless the next generation. Your gift will promote the development of the whole person, meeting practical needs through a holistic approach rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Share Hope With a Family in Need

In fourth grade, Olanie Orelien had to drop out of school because her parents could no longer afford her school-related fees. Years later, she found herself in similar impoverished circumstances with six children, trying to support them all through subsistence farming.

Then, God intervened and provided a miracle — the Kobonal Haiti Mission.

Thanks to Catholics who wanted to share the love of Christ with their brothers and sisters in Haiti, Olanie’s family began to receive monthly food staples that helped her provide for the nutritional needs of her children. Her sons and daughters were enrolled in Kobonal School, where they received a quality Catholic education and a healthy daily breakfast and lunch.

A woman balances a bag of food on her head and holds oil in one hand and soap in the other.
Olanie was given a miracle through the gift of monthly food staples.

The next miracle stabilized the family’s life further. They had been living in a small home that flooded when it rained, ruining their possessions and compromising their health. The mission built them a sturdy concrete home with a solid concrete foundation — a foundation for building a better future.

In another act of compassion, the Kobonal Haiti Mission drilled a well in Olanie’s community, providing her and her neighbors with a level of access to clean water they had never experienced before!

Olanie desperately needed a miracle, and that life transformation began with the gift of nutritious meals to sustain her family.

Your gift will be the miracle someone like Olanie is praying for this Christmas. Bring families hope and relief!

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2024, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
