Disaster Relief Project Spotlight
Haiti Earthquake Relief
On Aug. 14, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti — a temblor twice as strong as Haiti’s devastating 2010 earthquake that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Just two days later, Tropical Storm Grace lashed the same hard-hit communities with torrential rain, piling on misery for children and families that had already lost everything. Mudslides destroyed crops — many families’ only source of income — at the peak of the harvest season.
Through your support, Cross Catholic Outreach implemented a three-stage disaster relief plan to address immediate needs, including food, medical care and temporary shelter. Major efforts are currently underway to repair and rebuild homes in the region, providing families a firm foundation to seize a brighter future.
A little boy receives medical care at a mobile medical clinic in rural Haiti as others await treatment. The clinic is operated by our partner Grand’Anse Health and Development Association.
There’s no predicting where or when the next disaster might arise. Your generosity will help ensure that when a crisis comes to a ministry partner’s door, we can equip God’s people to rescue the vulnerable and display the Savior’s love.
Cross Catholic Outreach is working in the U.S. and overseas to serve those impacted by COVID-19. Our poorest brothers and sisters feel the effects of the pandemic, with food insecurity posing perhaps the greatest threat. Donations support our ministry partners that are addressing the current and ongoing urgent needs of the poor in 28 different countries.
In November 2020, back-to-back hurricanes Eta and Iota inflicted catastrophic damage to Central America. Cross Catholic Outreach moved quickly, sending grants and shipping 262 pallets of relief materials valued at $16.8 million to our ministry partners in the primarily affected countries.
Provide a rapid and effective response when unexpected emergencies occur. Through your generous support, we can set our global shipping network in motion to begin transporting urgently needed food, water, medicine and other supplies to survivors as soon as possible.

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures incurred through June 30, 2023, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
