Fight Poverty With the Populorum Progressio Foundation

Relieve the burden of poverty through high-impact projects selected by a board of Catholic bishops

St. John Paul II created the Populorum Progressio Foundation in 1992 to serve poor families in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today, Pope Francis continues this mission of hope — but the Church needs your help to meet urgent needs. Together, we can empower children and families with clean water, food, microenterprise and medical care.

The Church needs your support for 14 critical development and relief projects in seven Latin American countries.

Our Vatican Partnership

Channel aid through Catholic dioceses in Latin America

Cross Catholic Outreach is a Vatican-endorsed official Catholic ministry. Since 2019, we’ve sponsored more than 70 Populorum Progressio Foundation projects, impacting thousands of impoverished families. All projects are vetted by Latin American bishops and follow our high standards of financial accountability.
