Populorum Progressio Foundation

On a mission to help the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean

St. Pope John Paul II founded the Populorum Progressio Foundation more than 25 years ago, with the mission to show the God’s love by serving the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Local bishops throughout Latin America and the Caribbean identify and submit development projects to the Foundation, and after much research, thought and prayer, the Populorum Progressio Foundation decides which projects to fund.

But the need is so great.

Recently, Cardinal Turkson, head of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, called on Cross Catholic Outreach to form a partnership with the Populorum Progressio Foundation.

Through this new relationship, Cross Catholic Outreach is committed to funding 17 different projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean to meet these significant needs of the poor.
