Father George Kintiba was ordained as a priest on July 21, 1996, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Born and raised in the DRC and Belgium, Fr. Kintiba gained a unique perspective and a compassionate heart to serve others. In his pastoral work, he has served street children, teenagers, young adults, and troubled youths. He has been an outspoken activist in his home country, fighting against social injustice.
Fr. Kintiba is a member of the Society of the Divine Word. Since his ordination, he has been serving in the Chicago Province of the Society of the Divine Word in the United States.
After his ordination, Fr. Kintiba pursued graduate and postgraduate studies in Washington DC. He holds a Masters of Arts in Religious Studies and History, and a Ph.D. in History from Howard University, Washington DC. Currently, Fr. Kintiba is the African Studies Certificate Director, University of Maryland, AA Studies Department, College Park, Maryland.
His motto is: “In all that you do in life, let Christ be glorified. Make the enemy of your soul run and be horrified. In all you are doing, do it right, and the body of Christ will be edified.”
