Fr. John L. Longbucco

Rev. John L. Longbucco

Father John Longbucco was ordained a priest in 1990 in the Diocese of Marquette along with Archbishop Alexander King Sample III. As one of seven children, Fr. John has an appreciation for the working class family and especially for those families struggling to feed their children. He began serving in the Archdiocese of Detroit and eventually transferred to the rural Diocese of Marquette where he most recently served as Pastor at Holy Family.

Throughout his career his heart for the poor has grown. During his time as pastor at the parishes of St. Francis, St. Kateri, and Holy Family and during his deployment serving in Iraq as an US Army Chaplain, he has seen all levels of family struggles. Seeing the worse kind of poverty in a war-torn country has moved him to want to bring the plight of the “least of these” to the church body as an Outreach Priest for Cross Catholic Outreach.
