Fr. Aarons was born in Mt. Industry, St. Catherine, Jamaica. Having incardinated into the Diocese of Orlando, he performs his ministry there as director of spiritual development, providing spiritual direction to priests, religious, deacons and the laity. He has held the posts of director of the Pontifical Mission Society, vicar general and director of vocations for the Diocese of Mandeville, Jamaica. In 2013, he was appointed spiritual adviser for Retrouvaille in the Diocese of Orlando. On Feb. 10, 2016, Fr. Aarons received the mandate from Pope Francis to be a Missionary of Mercy for the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
Fr. Aarons feels most blessed to serve as a Missionary of Mercy. He says, “As a Missionary of Mercy, I support ministries that address the corporal and spiritual works of mercy — and so, Cross Catholic Outreach provides me the opportunity to exercise this aspect of my ministry.” His favorite scripture passage is Revelation 2:10, “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life,” which emphasizes that the way we live out our faithfulness to God and his people is the essence of our Christian life.
