Rev. Sergio Serrano, O.P.

Father Sergio Serrano, O.P., is a member of the Dominican Province of San Martín de Porres, which is in the southern United States. He professed his solemn vows in 2003, and in Dallas, Texas, in 2007, was ordained to become a member of the priesthood. He has served as a pastor and parish administrator in parishes in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and in Ecuador. He is currently the Director of the Hispanic Apostolate for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Also, he is the host of the podcast “La Biblia en un Año,” which debuted in 2022, and is the Spanish-language companion to the popular “Bible in a Year” podcast hosted by Father Mike Schmitz. Fr. Serrano is working on earning his Doctorate in Ministerial Theology at Barry University in Miami, Florida.

Fr. Serrano is grateful for his opportunities to travel around the world and within the U.S., where he meets people who share the values of many cultures and contribute new experiences in his life. During his leisure time, he travels on his motorcycle and enjoys movies and taking trips to new places.

Fr. Serrano believes that, as an Outreach Priest for Cross Catholic Outreach, he can bless parishes and help empower Church ministries that transform the lives of needy and vulnerable people.
