Father David Vargas was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and has held both pastor and parochial administrator positions in the Diocese of Orlando. He was pastor of Saint Rita of Cascia in Chicago, and previous to that, he was pastor and school director of a parish in the Archdiocese of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Fr. Vargas earned his MA in education in instructional design and technology from the Universidad Sagrado Corazon in Santurce, Puerto Rico, in 2008, and earned his MA in clinical counseling from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He held the position of external professor at Saint Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, Illinois, from 2010 until 2023, and he possesses experience in the utilization of software tools and programs that effectively track and manage data. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian.
