Rev. Joseph Westfall

Rev. Joseph Westfall

Father Westfall was ordained in the diocese of Lafayette in-Indiana on June 5, 1993. During his formation years in the seminary, as well as while a member of the pastoral team in parishes in his home diocese, he was profoundly moved while serving in an adopted parish in Haiti.

During his time in Haiti he also served at an outreach center in Port Au Prince ran by his home diocese; an experience that forever moved his heart in service to the poor. He worked in his home diocese until focusing ministry in healthcare chaplaincy in 1997. Since that time, Father Joseph has been a board certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains, as well as the National Conference of Veterans Affairs Catholic Chaplains.

Father Westfall has been a Chaplain with the Department of Veterans affairs for 15 years, serving in medical centers across the country as a clinical Chaplain and Chief of Chaplain Services. He is currently the Chief of Chaplain Services for the VA Hudson Valley in New York.

Father Westfall joins Cross Catholic Outreach to continue his service to the poorest of the poor.
