Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor
” We set forth our petitions before God, not in order to make known to Him our needs and desires, but rather so that we ourselves may realize that in these things it is necessary to turn to God for help. “
– St Thomas Aquinas
Our work at Cross Catholic Outreach begins each day in communal prayer. On Tuesdays, ministry staff spends the first hour of the workday praying for the specific intentions of our donors. We consider it an honor and a privilege to intercede for our friends and supporters. If you or someone you love needs prayer, please fill out the form below. We would love to pray for you.
Our Lady, Undoer of Knots
Holy Mary, full of God’s presence during the day
of your life, you accepted with full humility the
Father’s will, and the devil was never capable of
tying you up with his confusion. Once with your
Son you interceded for our difficulties, and full
of kindness and patience, you gave us example of
how to untie the knots in our life. By remaining
forever Our Mother, you put in order and make
more clear the ties that link us to the Lord. Holy
Mother, Mother of God and our Mother, to you
who untie with a motherly heart the knots of
our life, we pray to you to receive in your hands
(the name of the person), and to free him/her of
the knots and confusion with which our enemy
attacks. Through your grace, your intercession
and your example deliver us from all evil, Our
Lady, and untie the knots that prevent us from
being united with God, so that we, free from sin
and error, may find Him in all things, may have
our hearts placed in Him, and may serve Him
always in our brothers and sisters. Amen.
God and Father, Sustainer and Giver of all life, We come before you today in obedience with thankful hearts for what you have done through each and every one of our donors, whom you empower to bless the poor. We thank you for their faithful and sacrificial giving, and we ask that you continue to bless and protect them.
We also thank you for the privilege of serving as your instrument to minister to the poorest of the poor. As you continue to move on the hearts of your people to faithfully give, we pray you grant wisdom to the leaders of this organization to be faithful stewards of your resources, so that we can play our part in fulfilling your holy mandate of serving orphans, widows and those in desperate need.
We ask all these things in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit — now and always. Amen
We cling to each other, Gracious God, you and we, your people, believing in each other, sheltering each other, each the other’s dream, each the other’s dear love. We feel your Presence. All of life is a gift and a blessing from you. We thank you for your generous love. Be with us, encouraging us to be persons of honesty and integrity, worthy of proclaiming the Gospel, in the ministry of Cross Catholic Outreach. Help us to reverence that sacred space where our donors and our missions meet.
Give us an openness to listen to our donor’s needs. Give us joyful spirits and an eagerness to engage them. Give us hopeful imagination and creative vision, recognizing generosity in every gift. Give us strong, steadfast hearts in times of discouragement. Give us trusting hearts, knowing that the fruits of our labors will be realized long after we are gone.
We petition you to send us new donors, to assist in our impactful ministry of supporting those most in need, staying focused on you and your Kingdom. Keep us mindful that what we do for the “least,” we do for you. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Dear Lord, We acknowledge that you, our God and Father of all, are above all and through all and in all. Therefore, we trust you and thank you in all circumstances. Lord, we humbly petition your favor during these challenging times, Upon our partners overseas, our donors here at home, and our Cross family.
Where fear tries to pervade, may your peace overcome. Where illness tries to invade, may your protection overrule. Where poverty tries to deplete, may your provision overflow.
Where isolation tries to defeat, may your presence overwhelm. With gratitude, we ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
God our Father, Creator of the Universe, you have set the earth upon its foundation and all the elements of nature obey your command. We humbly come before you as your children in thanksgiving for your loving care and protection. Keep us and our ministry partners safe from all hurricanes and storms which may threaten us this season.
You alone have the power to command the wind, the rains and the seas. You alone bring peace, calm, and safety and you are our refuge. Father, we thank you in advance and ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen
Oh Lord, source of all love and hope, Sent by the Father, You came to embrace and become one of the least, vulnerable and marginalized in our world. Created in the same Divine image and likeness, we are called to acknowledge You in everyone we encounter, to meet people where they are, to seek the good of each person and the whole of each person.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide and direct the work of our Cross Catholic Outreach partners, who have made it their mission to accompany the neglected and marginalized of our world. Open their eyes so they recognize You in the people they serve. Open their ears so they may hear the cries of the poor and listen attentively to all their needs. Open their hearts to be filled with Your love so that it may overflow to all they serve.
Be in their midst as they accompany and sojourn with their communities. May all their actions and interactions be a reflection of your abundant light and love so that everyone they encounter may encounter You. May our prayers be a source of strength and support for them. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Our mission is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your gift empowers us to serve the poorest of the poor by channeling life-changing aid through an international network of dioceses, parishes and Catholic missionaries. This cost-effective approach helps break the cycle of poverty and advance Catholic evangelization.
