As a priest of 27 years and pastor for over 20, Fr. John Farley has been responsible for parishioners’ growth by developing services and programs, as well as the fiscal responsibility for parishes and maintenance of parish physical plants.
In his priestly ministry, he has advocated for affordable housing, immigration and refugee issues, integrated health issues, food, nutrition, natural disaster relief.
Fr. Farley believes that “Catholic action … humanitarian action must be both local and global. I care for my neighbor who I can see and for my neighbor who I cannot see because my welfare and reclamation is bound up with both…and I believe Cross Catholic Outreach, as a ministry, does more than fund projects – it provides opportunities for people to encounter and experience ‘the physical gestures, facial expressions, moments of silence, body language and even the smells of the trembling of hands, the blushes and perspiration that speak to us and are a part of human communication’”.
