Fr. Nicholas (Nick) Mansell was born in western Pennsylvania and raised in Tampa, Florida. He attended the Florida seminaries in Miami and Boynton Beach until joining the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) studying at Loyola in New Orleans, the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and the Gregorian University and Oriental Institute for Eastern Christian Studies in Rome.
He was ordained in 1984 and served in high school, parish, and retreat ministries. He came to the Diocese of Savannah in 2003 where he served as pastor until his retirement in 2019 working in Hispanic ministry, adult and youth education, as well as doing the regular duties of a pastor. In 2006 he was contacted by Cross Catholic Outreach and asked to host a priest for the purpose of raising funds. After hearing that priest speak about the poorest of the poor, he thought at some point he would like to do that.
He is very excited to be a small part of their wonderful ministry, especially having the opportunity to meet so many new people.
