Father Hugh Duffy is a retired priest of the Diocese of Palm Beach, Florida. A native of County Donegal, Ireland, Fr. Hugh received a Ph. D. from the University of Hull, England. Ordained in 1966, Fr. Hugh taught at a College in County Cork, Ireland. He also founded Christian Community Action in Ireland which was devoted to helping the needy in his native country by building housing for seniors, a sheltered workshop for the handicapped, a community center, and a center for the treatment of alcoholics. Among his pastoral assignments, Fr. Hugh was pastor at Sacred Heart, Okeechobee, Florida, for three decades [1983- 2013] where he served a multi-ethnic community of Americans, Hispanics, and Asians. Before retiring as pastor, he built a new church, debt free, for the community of Sacred Heart in 2013.
His experience in helping the needy is what has drawn him to preach on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach to serve the poorest of the poor!
