Father Richard Kunzman was ordained in 1963 and is a priest of the Diocese of Camden, NJ.
Father studied at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. and completed his studies for the Priesthood at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD. During his six years at St. Mary’s he was awarded the AB, STB, and STL degrees. In 1962 he also received his M.ED from Loyola College in Baltimore. He did Graduate Studies in Psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. In 1984 he received his doctorate in Pastoral Counseling (D.MIN) from Boston University in Boston, MA.
Father’s ministry has been quite diverse. He has served as a Secondary School teacher, as a missionary with the Diocese of Camden’s Mission in Brazil, and engaged in hospital ministry. He was Director of Pastoral Care at the New England Rehab Hospital in Woburn, MA. While in Boston he was a member of the Boston Theological Institute and helped train graduate students in their efforts to become hospital chaplains. He was chaplain at Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. Father served for many years as a counselor for Catholic Social Services in Camden and also worked with the Family Life Bureau.
Since 1990, Father Kunzman has preached in more than 700 parishes throughout the USA for the poorest of the poor.
