Women and girls make up the majority of human trafficking survivors worldwide, with the number of girls being trafficked steadily increasing. These vulnerable women and girls face uniquely heartbreaking challenges, including sexual exploitation, inadequate pregnancy care, and a lack of education and economic opportunities. The Church must address the suffering and hardships that destroy the peace and threaten the lives of our sisters in Christ.

From a young age, many girls in developing countries face oppression. Some are trafficked, exploited or married off as children in exchange for money and goods. Without anyone to protect them, they struggle to escape high-risk environments and do what little they can to keep themselves safe.
These girls dream of a life where they can be free and grow into women who build stable lives. They dream of pursuing education, earning an income and escaping the cycle of poverty. Cross Catholic Outreach partners with ministries worldwide that uplift at-risk girls and help them make their dreams a reality.

Not only do the sisters help girls recover, but through their mobile child protection clinic, they also take active steps to prevent girls from falling into the hands of predators. They don’t wait for children to come to them; they proactively reach vulnerable girls with a message of God’s love, mercy and hope. They want girls to know they are precious in the sight of their Father in Heaven and help them reach their true potential.
One of the girls rescued by this ministry is Jenna,* who was abused by her stepfather as a young teenager in Manila. After being removed from her home by local child protective services, she was referred to the Laura Vicuña Foundation for her protection, healing and recovery.
Now Jenna is studying to complete her Bachelor of Science in social work. With God’s guidance, she is dedicated to becoming a social worker one day and helping other children overcome the obstacles in their lives.
Your gift will provide a safe place for children like Jenna around the world who have been abused, abandoned or rescued from human trafficking. It will also prevent future abuse by providing care for orphans and vulnerable children, offering medical assistance, raising awareness and teaching family life skills.
This project is part of a larger initiative to support Cross Catholic Outreach’s Orphans & Vulnerable Children Relief Fund. Donations made to this project will provide families with a Catholic education, food, shelter and other lifesaving aid worldwide.

Donations from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for this project incurred through June 30, 2027, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
